This Week In Digital - February 2020

Hey Friends!

We’re starting off this month paying our respects to Gianna Bryant, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan. These are the names of the eight people killed in a helicopter crash, that also took the life of NBA legend, Kobe Bryant. We are stunned at this heart-wrenching news. This is a major loss for the culture - Black culture. This is an even more devastating loss to the families who will forever be affected by this tragedy. Rest in perfect peace Kobe Bryant. #LegendsNeverDie

Happy Black History Month! While the tragedies of 2020 have shaken us to our core, Adebukola.com plans to continue #SharingBlackStories in celebration of Black History Month.

Spoiler Alert: Kerby Jean-Raymond, founder of menswear label Pyer Moss, was not comfortable eliminating two Black designers, after they created what he believed to be a cohesive streetwear look. He unabashedly stood by his decision and walked off the set when other judges did not agree. With New York Fashion Week starting in a couple of days, we are interested to see how conversations will arise around the visibility and ownership of Black designers.
